Fireworks and FO's

I have a secret. Well, it's not really a secret to the people who are closest to me.

I have an affinity for starting projects and never finishing them. Yep, it's true. As hard as I try, I can never seem to finish things that I start. I don't know when this started. I don't know what it says about me. I suppose I'm a starter and not a finisher.

That being said, I believe I may have briefly broken my bad habit. Several posts ago, I mentioned a half granny square shawl that I was working on for my grandmother. I had many other projects that I was working on when I started it, but I finally came back full circle and finished it! I had a rough time with the fringe, but I got the hang of it.

I would love to show off a picture of the finished garment, but the only one I took was at three in the morning during my I-finished-something adrenaline rush. It's a horrible picture with bad lighting and you can see my feet at the bottom. Who wants to look at my feet. They would totally take away from the shawl and you know what they say. You can't have two brides in a picture, one bride and then some bridesmaids. I'll take another picture so you all can marvel at my work. lol.

Fourth of July weekend was pretty nice for me. I made macaroni and cheese (from scratch), polish dogs and fruit salad for my boyfriend, his brother and myself. We didn't light off any fireworks, but we did get to watch our neighbor's fireworks. That was pretty sweet. We watched a bunch of movies, and it was a pretty relaxing holiday.

As of today, I'm really interested in Fair Isle Knitting. I watched Knitting Daily on a local cable access channel, and saw their segment on it. I would love to try the vest they were making, but maybe I should start on a smaller project so I can get the hang of it.

  1. Thanks for visiting today. I have the same secret - a ridiculous number of unfinished crochet projects.
