I've kinda reached a little bit of a block. I've been working on 2 at a time toe up socks using Wendy Johnson's Lacy Rib Pattern. It is getting so monotonous. It reminds me of when I used to be on dance team and we would have to hear the same song over and over again for months and this hatred builds up inside of you. I don't hate the pattern by any means, I just hate doing it over and over again.
I think it might be time to take a break, but I also think that if I could just push through the next 2 1/2 inches then I could get to the fun( and new) stuff. I haven't worked a complete pair of toe ups before. I only manage to get through the toe and foot section and then I give up.
This time I'm really in love with they way these socks are turning out. I'm getting lots of compliments from friends and family on the progress photos I am sharing over facebook. So, I feel I must continue onward, if only to show myself that I can do this.
PS: One of my new favorite hobbies is watching lifetime movies and knitting socks. I did it all weekend.
hehe Lifetime movies? Do you watch them online or in front of the tv? :)
ReplyDeleteKeep at those socks! you'll be so happy when they're done!
Thanks for the very sweet comment on my post. :) I do try to stay optimistic about it, I'm just a very impatient person and I have leftover school bills to pay, so...argh.
ReplyDeleteWhat size needle are you using for your toe-up socks? Just curious. :)
Sarah- I watch lifetime movies on the television. I am lucky enough to have lifetime movie network which allows me to watch lifetime movies all day if I want.
ReplyDeleteBentneedle- I'm using US size 0 40" circular for my socks.
I made a pair of two-at-a-time toe-up socks for my size 11-1/2 feet. I got wickedly bored through the feet and then again up the cuff. The socks are SO comfy, though!!! Hang in there!
